The TV channel Fox News is suing its former news anchor Tucker Carlson, reports the news site Axios.
American TV personality Carlson launched a new version of his news program on Twitter on Tuesday, something that Fox says is a breach of contract. In a statement to Axios, Carlson’s lawyers say that if Fox takes legal action against Carlson, it would violate his freedom of speech.
On April 24, the broadcaster announced it was cutting ties with Carlson, who was the most popular host in prime time.

The company gave no explanation for the decision, but just days before that, Fox had settled with Dominion Voting Systems, which had sued the company for defamation.
The suit dealt with claims that Fox hosts, such as Carlson, knew then-President Donald Trump’s claims about voter fraud were untrue — but continued to make them on their shows.
