MSTRpay goes live in Ghana with Multitrust — dedicated infrastructure and market activities start immediately
Ghana becomes the latest active MSTRpay Country Vertical as dedicated server infrastructure, local customer activation and commercial activities begin
Stockholm / Accra, Ghana — October 1, 2026 — MSTRpay today announced the immediate activation of its Ghana Country Vertical together with Multitrust Money Lending Services Ltd., marking the transition from strategic cooperation to active market execution.
The Ghana operation is going live with dedicated server infrastructure, localised market channels and customer-facing activities beginning immediately.
This is not a future rollout.
The Ghana activation starts now.
The new infrastructure creates a dedicated environment for MSTRpay’s activities in Ghana and establishes the foundation for customer acquisition, local communication, product integration, partner development and the progressive introduction of MSTRpay services.
Multitrust will serve as a key local financial-services partner within the Ghana structure, connecting its local market presence and knowledge with MSTRpay’s technology, international ecosystem and customer-acquisition capabilities.
Ghana — one of Africa’s digital finance leaders
Ghana represents a particularly attractive market for MSTRpay.
The country has become one of Africa’s leading digital-finance economies, supported by widespread mobile-money adoption, an increasingly sophisticated payments infrastructure and a strong national focus on digital financial inclusion.
Bank of Ghana reported 26.6 million active mobile-money accounts in 2025, supported by almost half a million active agents. During the year, Ghana recorded approximately 9.7 billion mobile-money transactions with a total value of GH¢4.54 trillion. (Bank of Ghana)
Financial inclusion has also expanded substantially, while the Bank of Ghana continues to actively promote electronic payments, fintech innovation and the development of a cash-lite economy. (Bank of Ghana)
For MSTRpay, this makes Ghana more than another expansion market.
It is a market where digital behaviour already exists at scale — and where the next generation of financial services can be built on top of it.
From agreement to execution
MSTRpay’s international expansion model is entering a new phase.
The company is systematically moving its local partnerships from agreements into active Country Verticals — dedicated national environments designed to create real customer activity and commercial development.
Ghana now becomes one of those active markets.
The initial activation includes:
- dedicated Ghana server infrastructure;
- a dedicated MSTRpay Ghana environment;
- integration of Multitrust as a local partner channel;
- local customer-acquisition campaigns;
- digital and media activation;
- merchant and SME engagement;
- preparation for MSTRpay product deployment; and
- continuous market analytics and optimisation.
The infrastructure allows MSTRpay to build the Ghana operation independently while connecting it directly to the company’s wider international technology and financial ecosystem.
“Ghana is not entering a planning phase — Ghana is entering an operating phase,” said Dean Petkanas, CEO of MSTRpay. “The dedicated infrastructure is being activated and our market activities begin immediately. Together with Multitrust, we now have the local foundation to start building customers, distribution and transaction activity in one of Africa’s most exciting digital-finance markets.”
Building the customer base first
MSTRpay’s strategy is based on a simple principle:
Build the customer relationship first — then expand the financial ecosystem around that customer.
Initial activity will therefore focus heavily on customer acquisition and engagement.
MSTRpay’s M5 smartphone programme is expected to become an important part of this strategy, giving consumers access to a modern connected smartphone through affordable instalment structures.
For many consumers across emerging markets, access to a smartphone is the gateway to the digital economy.
Once connected, the customer relationship can progressively expand into the wider MSTRpay ecosystem, including digital wallet capabilities, MSTRscore™️, payments, merchant services, SME services and other financial products made available through appropriate local structures and regulatory frameworks.
The result is a scalable pathway:
Device → Digital Identity → MSTRpay Customer → Financial Services → Transactions → Long-Term Financial Relationship
Multitrust as a local growth partner
Multitrust brings local knowledge, existing financial-services experience and direct understanding of Ghanaian customers and businesses.
Combined with MSTRpay’s technology, international network, SMAP™️ market-entry structure and customer-acquisition infrastructure, the cooperation creates a platform designed not merely to enter Ghana — but to build sustainable local activity.
The Ghana operation will also be supported by MSTRpay’s wider communications and acquisition ecosystem, including NewsHub Finance, MSTR Media, SEMIengine™️ and MSTRsignal™️, creating the ability to connect market communication directly with measurable customer acquisition.
Ghana fits the MSTRpay model
Ghana combines many of the characteristics MSTRpay looks for in a priority emerging market:
a young and increasingly digital population, widespread mobile-phone adoption, extensive mobile-money usage, a significant SME economy and a financial system actively moving toward greater digitisation.
The country is also entering a new period of economic stability. The IMF reported that Ghana’s real GDP grew 6% in 2025 and 6.4% year-on-year during the first quarter of 2026, alongside substantial improvements in inflation, reserves and debt sustainability. (IMF)
For MSTRpay, that combination of digital maturity, financial inclusion and renewed economic momentum creates an attractive environment for long-term expansion.
One country at a time — one connected network
The Ghana launch forms part of MSTRpay’s broader expansion across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and other emerging markets.
Rather than building isolated national businesses, MSTRpay is creating interconnected Country Verticals that share technology, infrastructure, products, analytics and customer-acquisition capabilities.
Each country remains locally relevant.
Each partner brings local strength.
But every market becomes part of the same wider MSTRpay ecosystem.
Ghana is now live.
The infrastructure is being activated.
The market activities begin now.
And Multitrust and MSTRpay are moving together from cooperation into execution.
