What began as a campaign town hall in the Philadelphia suburbs quickly turned into an impromptu dance party Monday night after Donald Trump was twice interrupted by medical emergencies in the audience.
Following the second incident, the usual signal for the former president’s exit — the Village People’s “YMCA” — blasted through the loudspeakers. But the former president didn’t leave. Instead, he remained onstage, telling the crowd, “Nobody’s leaving. What’s going on?”
More music played, and for roughly 40 minutes, Trump bopped and shimmied onstage to an eclectic playlist featuring Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Rufus Wainwright’s cover of “Hallelujah,” and Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain.”
Many attendees eventually began heading for the exits, but some stayed through the entire DJ set.
Trump finally exited the stage to “Memory” from the musical “Cats.”
Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s national press secretary, shared a photo on X from the side of the stage, captioning it “DJ TRUMP!”
Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung added on the platform, “Something very special is happening in Pennsylvania… Trump is unlike any politician in history, and it’s great.”
