Gloomy on the New York Stock Exchange – down over 3 percent

After Trump’s tariff announcement, the turbulence on the world’s stock exchanges continues.

Friday also got off to a gloomy start on the New York Stock Exchange.

After ten minutes of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.8 percent, the broad S&P 500 index 3.1 percent and the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index 3.4 percent, writes TT.

Earlier in the day, China announced that it would respond with an additional 34 percent tariff on goods from the United States.

On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 4 percent, the broad S&P 500 index 4.8 percent and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell a full 6 percent.
