8 out of 10 Swedish companies believe that the gang war has reduced Sweden’s attractiveness in the business world

The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has investigated how the companies in Stockholm and Uppsala feel that gang crime has so far affected the Swedish economy. Over 80 percent state that it has already become more difficult to attract personnel from abroad

The image of Sweden as a peaceful country has changed in the rest of the world after the recent acts of violence. According to a survey carried out by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, 83 percent of companies believe that gang crime has already affected the possibilities of attracting investments and personnel from abroad.

The negative trend linked to crime must be reversed. Otherwise, there is a risk that this will have a negative impact on prosperity throughout Sweden in the future, says Andreas Hatzigeorgiou, CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
