Today, this year’s Nobel laureate in chemistry will be revealed. But an email revealing the prize winner has already gone out – four hours too early.
It is the Royal Academy of Sciences that inadvertently sent out an email at 07.30 on Wednesday morning, which states who or who should have been awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The press release states that this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry will be awarded to three researchers “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots”.
Eva Nevelius, press officer at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, tells SVT Nyheter that no decision has been made on Nobel laureates yet.
- The only thing I can say is that we cannot comment on what has happened and no decision has been made, she says.
The prize winner will be formally announced according to tradition at 11.45 today.
